World Hepatitis Day - Free Hepatitis B screening

MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited (MDS-Lancet) collaborated with Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research (NMIMR) and OK Foundation (OK) to provide free Hepatitis B screening on the 28th of July at the Madina STC Yard in Accra, to mark World Hepatitis Day which fell on 28th July.

MDS-Lancet and OK Foundation have worked together to offer free Hepatitis B screen for over fifteen (15) years as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. It is in MDS-Lancet interest to educate the public that Hepatitis B is preventable hence they should get tested and vaccinated when negative. Patients who test positive during this screening must be confirmed for being positive and see their physicians for management. Four Hundred and Twenty-Five (425) participants were screened and Three Hundred and Sixty-Eight (368) were vaccinated on the day.

MDS-Lancet collaborated with St Michael’s Specialist Hospital

MDS-Lancet collaborated with St Michael’s Specialist Hospital (A branch of MDS-Lancet) to screen over 500 people in the community for Free Hepatitis B and Fasting Blood Glucose tests. The free screening took place at the premises of St Michael’s Specialist Hospital from the 28th of June to the 2nd of July 2023. Disease like hypertension is a silent killer, with multiple complications, including organ failure, hence the need for regular check-ups.

MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited in collaboration with OK Foundation provided Free Hepatitis B screening and vaccination for a cross-section of the public held at the Silver Star Towers in Accra, to mark World Hepatitis Day which fell on 28th July.MDS-Lancet and OK Foundation have worked together to offer this initiative for over twelve (12) years as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. It is our interest to educate the public that Hepatitis B is preventable hence everyone should get tested and vaccinated when negative. Patients who test positive should see their physicians for management.
